Free: Teachers, Press, SNAP/EBT, Members of The NSCDA, Military personnel and dependents*, and children 6 years old and younger

*Active duty military personnel and their immediate family, with valid ID.

Wilton House Museum is a proud member of Museums for All. Through Museums for All, those receiving food assistance (SNAP benefits) can gain free admission for themselves and their dependents to Wilton House Museum simply by presenting their SNAP EBT (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program Electronic Benefit Transfer) card.

Adult and Senior tickets are available by pre-reservation. For combinations of ticket types, children’s tickets, or if you qualify for a free tour, please purchase your tickets upon arrival to the Museum. What better way to enjoy a tour of the historic house than by sharing it with a group of friends. Groups of 10 or more are encouraged to schedule a tour of Wilton before their visit. Let us know you are coming so we can make your visit as enjoyable and rewarding as possible. It also pays to bring your friends, because group rates start at $8.00 per person.

    school Tours

    Standard House Tour

    Time required: 45 minutes

    Cost: $2.50 per student

    Students of all ages are invited to experience eighteenth-century colonial lifestyles and history. Students will explore the lavish public rooms and comfortable family quarters while hearing about the Wilton’s famous visitors, including Thomas Jefferson, George Washington, and the Marquis de Lafayette.

    Time required: 30 minutes

    Cost: $1.50 per student

    Add an additional hands-on experience to your visit!

    • Militia Muster: Learn the art of the soldier! Wilton served as headquarters for the local militia throughout the American Revolution. Learn to march, drill with muskets, and make your own musket cartridge to take home.

    • Artifact Adventure: Handle a real archaeological collection from Wilton plantation! How can we learn about the past from things we find in the ground?

    Directions

    From the North, take I-95 to 195. Take the Cary Street Exit. Turn right (West) onto Cary Street Road. South Wilton Road is on the left at the 5400 block of Cary Street Road. Wilton House is at the end of South Wilton Road.

    From the South, take I-95 to 195 North. Follow 195 and take the Cary Street/Floyd Avenue Exit. Turn right onto Thompson Street. Remain on Thompson Street until reaching Cary Street; turn right onto Cary Street. South Wilton Road is on the left at the 5400 block of Cary Street Road. Wilton House is at the end of South Wilton Road.

    From the West, take I-64 East. Merge onto 195 and follow to Cary Street Exit. Turn right (West) onto Cary Street Road. South Wilton Road is on the left at the 5400 block of Cary Street Road. Wilton House is at the end of South Wilton Road.

    From the East, take I-64 West towards Richmond, merge onto 64 West/I-95 North. Continue to 195 South and follow to Cary Street Exit. Turn right (West) onto Cary Street Road. South Wilton Road is on the left at the 5400 block of Cary Street Road. Wilton House is at the end of South Wilton Road.
